Subtly highlighted by polished and brushed surfaces, the cushion shape of the 316L stainless steel case (42 mm in diameter) enhances the dial with a sunrayed Newport blue background. Very 70's with its large Day/Date aperture at 3 o'clock, this one is reminiscent of the aesthetics of a navigation compass. Echoing the four cardinal points, a cross of thin perpendicular red lines orchestrates the information with precision. Appended to the circular brushed flange, a clearly graduated minute track punctuates the imposing faceted indexes. Steel-colored and covered with white luminescent material, they match the hour and minute hands, animated by a red central second hand. Protected by a curved double-sided sapphire crystal, the whole offers optimal readability accentuated by a play of contrasting colors. While displaying some of the watchmaking codes of the period, this watch nevertheless remains faithful to the emblematic characteristics of the Newport collection: central strap attachments, porthole-style bezel adorned with five screws evoking the winches on sailing boats, and a marine wheel stamped on the crown.
