Since 1947, Herbelin has designed its watches in Charquemont, a village in the Haut-Doubs nestled in the heart of France's watchmaking cradle. This is not a detail, it is a choice: to remain true to our roots, to a territory, to gestures passed down through generations.
A house rooted in its territory
Here, proximity is not a slogan; it is a daily reality. Our movements come from La Chaux-de-Fonds, just minutes from Charquemont. Assembly, regulation, and quality control are carried out on-site, in our own workshops. This geographical coherence allows us to master every step, limit our impact, and guarantee a manufacturing process that is local, exacting, and responsible.
Crafted with purpose
We champion sustainable watchmaking, respecting time and those who craft it. Our timepieces are made to last, to be passed down. What can be repaired will never be replaced. What can be preserved will never be discarded.
This commitment goes hand-in-hand with a clear environmental and ethical approach, based on concrete actions: reducing our carbon footprint, energy efficiency in our production, rigorous waste management, and limiting unnecessary packaging. We select our materials with care, demanding full traceability. All the diamonds we use are certified "Conflict-Free," sourced from certified suppliers, in accordance with the Kimberley Process.
Preserving know-how, training the future
However, our responsibility extends beyond materials. It encompasses the transmission of savoir-faire, the training of young watchmakers, and the enduring legacy of a craft. Each year, we welcome new apprentices to perpetuate this living tradition, passing on the exacting standards, the precision, and the gestures that make the difference. And to equip them with the tools to invent the watchmaking of tomorrow.
