Newport Heritage Chronograph
Enter the Race of Time
Since its launch in 2020 by Michel Herbelin, the Newport Héritage has continuously captivated watchmaking enthusiasts. From a limited edition model, a collection was born where each timepiece highlights the Maison's watchmaking heritage, passed down through three generations. Charismatic of the 1970s with its design, and distinctive with its marine DNA, it now welcomes a new timepiece: the Newport Héritage Chronograph. Precise to 1/10th of a second while offering water resistance up to 100 meters, this cutting-edge French-made sports watch harmonizes performance with elegance.
A racing spirit 70’s
True to the Newport Héritage lineage, this chronograph embodies the characteristic watchmaking codes of the seventies. The 316L stainless steel case (42 mm) features a cushion shape, highly fashionable at the time. Alternating brushed and mirror-polished surfaces, it showcases a sunburst Newport blue dial protected by double-sided curved sapphire crystal. Clearly graduated on the circular brushed silver flange, a minute track punctuates faceted striking indices, harmonized with the hour and minute hands by their steel color coated with white luminescent material.
Enhancing the model's 70s style, the three sub-dials stand out with their sunray silver background. Positioned at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, they are dedicated respectively to displaying the small seconds with an integrated date, the 30-minute counter, and the 10-hour counter. Driven by pushers known as " mushroom ” polished, the chronograph function is activated, clearly identified by the bright red of the hands, mirroring the color of the central seconds hand.
Undeniably neo-vintage, this chronograph remains nevertheless identifiable as the iconic Newport, inspired by the nautical world. The porthole-style bezel with its hexagonal hollow-head screws directly recalls its lineage, as do the central lugs for the strap or the presence of a raised ship's wheel on the crown.
A French Horological Speedster
Water-resistant up to 100 meters, the Newport Héritage Chronograph is fitted with a bracelet, domed in the center, crafted from a highly resistant technical textile inspired by marine rope. Matching the dial in its blue color, accented with double white stitching and red tack points, it perfectly completes the model's sport-chic spirit while subtly showcasing its French origins.
Designed, conceived, assembled, regulated, and controlled in the Michel Herbelin workshops, located in the Jura mountains of Franche-Comté, this timepiece is powered by a Swiss-made quartz chronograph movement (Ronda), guaranteeing precision to the 1/10th of a second for 54 months.
Launched to enter the race of time, the Newport Héritage Chronograph distinguishes itself with its strong personality while highlighting 75 years of traditional French watchmaking expertise.
