Cap Camarat Skeleton

Cultivating its Difference

⁣⁢French, family-owned, and independent for 75 years, the watchmaking Maison Michel Herbelin continues its development of the Cap Camarat collection this year. Poised to become emblematic given the enthusiasm it has generated since its launch in 2018, it welcomes a new automatic model: the Cap Camarat Squelette. Revealing its inner beauty within a design that embodies the 70s, this sport-chic watch is released in a limited series of 500 numbered pieces worldwide.⁤⁣

A bold style 70’s affirmed

⁣⁢An elegantly sporty watch with neo-vintage charm, the Cap Camarat Skeleton remains true to the spirit of the collection, inspired by a 1970s timepiece from the French house Michel Herbelin's watchmaking heritage. Distinctive for its hexagonal structure, accentuated by the crown guard, the 316L stainless steel case (42 mm) alternates between vertical brushing and polished facets, highlighting the sculpted nature of the material. Similar in finish, the bezel, adorned with six decorative screws, tempers the sharp architecture of the whole with its perfectly rounded form.⁤⁣

⁣⁢Also characteristic of the era's watchmaking codes, the integrated bracelet forms a seamless extension of the case. Composed of four links with brushed and polished finishes, it perfects the assertive spirit of this timepiece, water-resistant to 100 meters, while enhancing its robust allure.⁤⁣

A striking view of the movement's mechanics

⁣⁢Protected by a sapphire crystal, the dial celebrates the automatic movement by revealing it in its entirety. Stripped of any superfluous material, it has been skeletonized mirroring the design of the Cap Camarat. Refined and modern through a rhodium finish on its components and gears, this skeletonization transforms the intricate orchestration of the mechanism into a sharp, compact, and dynamic interplay of lines. Created as a preview for Michel Herbelin, it majestically showcases the art of transparency, unveiling the inner workings in exquisite detail. The oscillating weight has also been skeletonized to render it as transparent as possible.⁤⁣

⁣⁢A stylistic flourish lending the model a strong personality while offering a mesmerizing spectacle, this visible mechanism is underscored by a black flange displaying a precisely arranged minute track. Alongside it, a slightly wider circular ring of the same color accommodates beveled, black-plated indices positioned as if levitating above the movement. Typical of the 70s with their shape inspired by Michel Herbelin's original model, they are coated with luminescent material, as are the faceted rectangular hands for the hours and minutes, ensuring perfect legibility in low light.⁤⁣

A limited edition

⁣⁢Presenting a modern vision of skeletonization and mechanical watchmaking, the Cap Camarat Squelette is powered by a Swiss-made automatic caliber: the Sellita SW400-1. Also visible through a transparent case back, it features 26 jewels, generates 28,800 oscillations per hour, and offers a power reserve of 41 hours.⁤⁣

⁣⁢Engraved on the case back with the number X/500, this limited series distinguishes a watch of character offering stylistic versatility through an aesthetic that is both sporty and elegant. Made in France, having been designed, conceived, assembled, adjusted, and controlled in the Maison's workshops located in the Jura mountains of Franche-Comté, it inherits a traditional French watchmaking savoir-faire passed down through generations since 1947.⁤⁣
